SURGOINSVILLE - Mamie "Sis" Barton, 82, of 314 Cross Valley Road, passed away Tuesday (February 21, 2006) at Church Hill Health Care & Rehab Center following an extended illness.
Mrs. Barton was a life long resident of Hawkins County and was a member of Fudges Chapel United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Franklin Barton, one son, Jackie Barton, great granddaughter, Hailey Lipe, her parents, William Bill and Annie Duncan Dickerson, brother, Acie Dickerson.
She is survived by one son, Joey Barton, Surgoinsville; three grandchildren, Cheryl Davis, Regina Lipe and husband, Doug, Johnny Brooks and wife, Melissa; three great grandchildren, Harley Davis, Shyanna McGinnis and Seth Brooks; one sister, Sue Johnson, Surgoinsville; several nieces and nephews.
A special thanks to the staff of Church Hill Health Care & Rehab Center.
Calling hours are from 5 to 7:00 P.M. Thursday at Johnson Funeral Home and anytime at the residence.
Services will be conducted Thursday at 7:00 P.M. in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Greg Fletcher officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted Friday at 11:00 a.m. at Church Hill Memory Gardens.
