John Wells Slosson, 87, formerly of Bridgman, of South Haven passed away Thursday, June 15, 2017, in Mishawaka, Ind.
A private graveside service will be at Ruggles Cemetery, Baroda. Online condolences accepted at www.PikeFH. com. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Boyd Chapel of Pike Funeral and Cremation Services, 9191 Red Arrow Highway, Bridgman.
John was born July 26, 1929, in Benton Harbor, the son of the late Frank and Helen (Wells) Slosson. He is a graduate of Benton Harbor High School, attended Lake Michigan College and Western Michigan University, Kalamazoo. John was a partner in the Slossons Party Store in Benton Harbor, as well as other real estate investments. After semi-retiring, he worked at the Hardings in Bridgman until turning 80 years old.
He is survived by his son, Mark (Mary Healy) Slosson; daughter, Karol Ann Doolin; and their mother, Jeanne Slosson; along with their grandchildren: Scott R. Slosson, Nathan and Michael Doolin; and 10 nieces and nephews.
John was also preceded in death by his daughters, Debbie and Donna; brothers, Frank Slosson Jr., Charles Slosson; and sisters, Elsie Webber and Hazel Pullins. " From The Herald-Palladium, June 17, 2017, page A7
