Survived by son, Albert Cardwell, Jr. and daughter, Theresa Beard and six grandchildren. Mildred held fond childhood memories of working with her fourteen brothers and sisters in the family business, Dalton's Candy Store. She later worked at the S S Kresge store on Gay Street, was a cafeteria manager for Knox County Schools and managed the South Knoxville Goodwill. She was a member of the Alice Bell Baptist Church. Mildred loved to travel and never missed a chance to hit the road, going from the beach at Hilton Head to the Pennsylvania Amish Country.
The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 pm Wednesday at Berry Lynnhurst Funeral Home, 2300 Adair Drive, Knoxville, TN 37918. Family and friends will meet at Greenwood Cemetery at 2:45 pm Thursday for the 3:00 pm Graveside Service.
