Fred Houghton, 49, died at his home, 852 Second avenue SE, at 4:50 p.m. Sunday of cerebral hemorrhage. He was born in Traer Aug. 18, 1888 and had resided in Cedar Rapids for twenty-four years. He was employed at the Wilson Packing company. Surviving are four brothers, James and Lee Houghton, both of Waterloo; Edward Houghton, of Tama; Charles in Canada; two sisters, Mrs. Florence Freetley, Chicago; Mrs. Anna Hansen, Mason City; a niece, Mrs. Edith Sullivan, with whom he made his home, and a sister-in-law Mrs. Elizabeth Houghton, Cedar Rapids.
Funeral services will be held in the Beatty chapel Wednesday at 4 p.m. Burial will be in Cedar Memorial park. Friends may call at the chapel from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.
