Cherokee Ann Aldridge, age 64, of Dateland, Arizona passed away on Monday, March 7, 2022. Cherokee was born on August 23, 1957 to Jack and Wanda Aldridge in Phoenix, Arizona.
She was a devout Catholic who started her education at St. Gregory's Catholic School and transferred to Dateland Elementary in 1969. After graduating from Antelope Union High School in 1975, Cherokee moved back to Phoenix and attended Glendale Community College and enjoyed creating amazing lighting for the band City Kids. Cherokee moved back to Dateland and eventually worked for Dateland Elementary in many capacities until she became the cafeteria manager- the same job as her grandmother many years before her. She met her lifelong partner, John Chudy in 1997.

Cherokee was a lover of all animals, especially dogs, and was a frequent visitor and volunteer at a Yuma dog rescue called Old Souls. She volunteered for many charities, was a school bus driver, EMT and held lifelong friendships with everyone she met.

Cherokee is survived by her beloved, John Chudy, brothers John (Lisa), Joe, Robert (Jaime), nephews, David (Kate), Jaden, Justin (Ashley) and niece Marleau. She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Michael and daughter, Maile.

A visitation for Cherokee will be held Monday, March 21, 2022 from 8:45 AM to 9:30 AM at West Resthaven Funeral Home (6450 W. Northern Ave, Glendale, AZ 85301). A rosary service will take place Monday, March 21, 2022 at 10:20 AM at St. Helen Catholic Church (5510 W. Cholla St, Glendale, AZ 85304) with 11:00 AM Mass to follow. After Mass, Cherokee will be laid to rest at Resthaven Park Cemetery. Family & friends are invited to attend a reception at The American Legion Post 29 (6822 N. 57th Drive, Glendale, AZ 85301) from 1:30 to 4:00 PM.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date in Dateland, AZ.
