Nellie Fernandes, 41, passed away on April 08, 2022 at Tufts Medical Center in Boston after a brief illness. Nellie was born in Taunton and was the daughter of Adelina Xavier and the late Antonio Fernandes.

Nellie was a graduate of Taunton High School and Bristol Community College. She was employed at Market Basket, Walmart and was excited to start her new career in child care.

Nellie was a kind a gentle soul who loved to sing and dance. She enjoyed going to the movies with her friends, shopping, taking nature walks, and had a lifelong passion for learning. Nellie always took the time to enjoy the simple things that life had to offer and she will be remembered fondly as a gentle soul with a wonderful sense of humor. Nellie will be deeply missed by her family, coworkers and countless lifelong friends.

Surviving in addition to her mother are her brothers, Gary and Tony Fernandes of Taunton and a large extended family.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a time of visitation on Monday, April 18, 2022 from 4-8pm in the Crapo-Hathaway Funeral Home, 350 Somerset Ave., Taunton.

Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, April 19, 2022 at 9am from the funeral home, followed by her Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in St. Anthony Church, 126 School St., Taunton.
