Jesse "J.W." Cozart Jr., 63, of Sparta, died Friday at his home. He was a mechanic with Dow Corning Co. and an Army veteran.

Survivors include his wife, Marcedes Oaks Cozart; a son, David Cozart of Sparta; a daughter, Amy Querry of Wilmington, Ohio; a sister, Donna Turner of Hanover, Ind.; and three grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Garnett-New-McDonald Funeral Home, Warsaw . Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Burial will be in Ghent Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Sparta Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box B, Sparta, Ky. 41086.

Funeral services were held Sept.30, 2007, at the Garnett-New-McDonald Funeral Home with the Rev. Lester Caldwell officiating.

Burial was in Ghent Cemetery.

Jesse "J.W." Cozart Jr., age 63 and a resident of Sparta, Ky., passed away Friday, September 28th at his home. Born January 1944, he was the son of the late Jesse Walton Cozart Sr. and Gladys Jones Cozart.

J.W. was an employee of the Dow Corning Company where he worked as a mechanic. He was also a Veteran having served his country in the United States Army. He leaves behind his wife, Marcedes Oaks Cozart, whom he married in September of 1968; one son: David Cozart of Sparta; one daughter: Amy Querry of Wilmington, Ohio; and one sister: Donna Turner of Hanover, Ind. Also surviving are three grandchildren: Dylan Cozart, Brooklyn Cozart, and Lydia Querry.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 29th, from 4 until 8pm at the Garnett-New-McDonald Funeral Home in Warsaw. Funeral services will begin at 2:00pm on Sunday, September 30th with Rev. Lester Caldwell officiating. Burial will follow at the Ghent Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be: Michael Humphries, Tom Harr, Danny Humphries, Rick Ackermann, Bobby Durman, and Kurt Wood.
