James (Jim) Dorrycott was the son of James Jewell Dorrycott and Bertha Booth. He was born in Washington, PA and spent his first eighteen years there. When he was 18, he met Maybelle (age 16). They fell in love and slipped away on October 12, 1924 and were married in Pittsburgh, PA. Jim and Maybelle were the parents of two sons, James William Jr. and Robert Edward. They were divorced in 1930.
Jim soon met and married Nellie Jenkins from Wellston, Ohio. They had no children but were still married when Jim died one day after shoveling the snow from his walk. He simply came in, sat down and died of a coronary occlusion.
Jim was a welder by trade and worked at the Westinghouse Corporation in Sharon, PA, just across the border from Jim's home in Hubbard, Ohio. He was a 32nd degree Mason.
