Walter Wendell Chilcote, 74, of Mill Creek, died Thursday, Oct. 28, 2021, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Born March 27, 1947, in Huntingdon, he was the son of the late Walter C. and Estelle E. (Goss) Chilcote. He was united in marriage to the former Cindy Fortney Nov. 13, 1976. Mrs. Chilcote survives at home.
He is survived by son Jason Chilcote and companion Renae, Mill Creek, daughter Megan Neff and husband Garret, Blain, and grandchildren Gavin, Olivia, John Luke Suchan, Luke and Alice.
Mr. Chilcote was preceded in death by sisters Gladys Endres, Delores Hughes, Bernyce Hamman and brother Chalmer Chilcote.
He was a 1965 graduate of Huntingdon Area High School.
Mr. Chilcote was in the United States Army, serving in Korea during the Vietnam Era. He was a lifetime member of the Standing Stone VFW Post 1754, Huntingdon.
He retired as a batch operator from Owens-Corning Fiberglas, Huntingdon.
During his lifetime, Mr. Chilcote was an avid reader, enjoyed camping with this grandchildren, trout fishing and bird watching.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 3, at the Robert I. McClain Funeral Home, 245 Seminary St., Cassville, with Rev. Gary Hagans officiating. Interment will be at Bowman's Chapel Cemetery, Mapleton.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday and one hour prior to the service Wednesday.
