Ella B. "Pennie" Hamman, 72, of 31 Taylor Apartments, Mount Union, died unexpectedly at 10:45 a.m. Wednesday, April 12, 2006.


Born June 16, 1933 in Huntingdon, she was a daughter of the late Walter C. and Estella (Goss) Chilcote. She was united in marriage to Obrey E. "Ivan" Hamman Sr. April 25, 1963, in Winchester, Va. He preceded her in death, May 6, 1992.


Mrs. Hamman is survived by a stepson, O. Edward Hamman Jr. and wife, Debbie, Rockhill; and a step-grandson.


She is also survived by a sister and brother, Gladys Melrose Endres, Calvin; and Walter E. Chilcote and wife, Cindy, Mill Creek.


She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Sheila Chilcote, and by a sister and brother, Dolores Hughes and Chalmer Chilcote.


Mrs. Hamman was of the Protestant faith.


She was a member of the Mount Union VFW Post No. 5754 Auxiliary and was primarily a homemaker.


funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 15, at the Robert D. Heath Funeral Home, Mount Union, with Pastor Don Pangburn officiating. Interment will be made in the Haven Rest Memorial Park, Shirleysburg, R.R. 1.


Friends may calla the the funeral home one hour prior to Saturday's service.
