DEVINE, Michelle "Mikki" – 49, of Villas passed away peacefully on Friday evening, April 30, 2021 surrounded by love.

Born a proud Army brat in Kanagawa Ken, Camp Zama, Japan, Mikki enjoyed a life of living around the East Coast and Germany before settling in Cape May County in 1983.

A graduate of Lower Cape May Regional in 1990, she went on to graduate from Ramapo College of New Jersey in 1996 with a BA in History.

After college Mikki continued her love of books working as a library assistant for the Upper School at Covent for the Sacred Heart in NYC for 9 years. She returned to Cape May County when she began working as the Senior Librarian Assistant at the newly formed Avalon Free Public Library. For 16 years it was her home away from home and great pride. An avid Jane Austen reader, Mikki founded the romance book club. She was also a hostess at Jackson Mountain Café for 14 years.

Mikki loved to laugh and gave the best hugs. She was happiest when surrounded by her best friends, meeting for Happy Hour at 5 West and The Harbor View. She inherited her MomMom's love of baking and entertaining and was known for her amazing cupcakes and desserts. She loved spoiling her fur niece and nephew, Nina and Cam, with treats and endless belly rubs. An avid sports fan, Mikki loved to cheer on her Duke Blue Devils, New York Yankees and Giants, and was a true NASCAR fan, always pulling for Jeff Gordon. She loved traveling and was looking forward to celebrating her 50th birthday in her favorite vacation spot, Key West.

She is predeceased by her father, Brendan Devine, as well as her boyfriend, Shelton Winn. Mikki is dearly missed and forever loved by her family which includes her mom, Marie Devine; three sisters, Shannan Devine (Jeff Opal), Kim Devine and Brenda Devine and the light of her life her nephew, Jalen Devine. Also grieving her loss are her Brogan Devine Clan of aunts, uncles and cousins, her amazing besties, and innumerable friends who loved her like a sister.

In honor of Mikki's signature color, visitors are welcome to wear red to her services. Mikki's family will receive guests in the Spilker Funeral Home, 815 Washington St., Cape May during a walk-through viewing on Thursday (May 6th) from 6pm – 8pm and again on Friday (May 7th) from 11am – 12pm with Mikki's Mass of Christian Burial to follow and begin at 12:30pm in Our Lady Star of the Sea Church, 525 Washington St., Cape May. Her Mass will be livestreamed and can be accessed by clicking this link https://www.hdezwebcast.com/show/mikki-devine Interment will take place following the Mass in St. Mary's Cemetery, Cape May.
