Shirley Irene Dye (nee Turner), 97, of Midland Texas, joined her Heavenly Father on March 2, 2021.

Shirley was born in Bryan, Texas on September 12, 1923 to the late Dixon Leland Turner and Mary Anna Turner (nee Galley).

She graduated from Granbury High School in 1940.

Shirley married James “Red” Dye on September 8, 1946 and was married for 55 years. They raised 3 sons and one daughter.

She was a member of Crestview Baptist Church.

Shirley was a loving housewife and mother that cared for their family and home.

Shirley enjoyed sewing, knitting and crochet.

She was a devoted sister in Christ and taught Sunday school for over 20 years.

Shirley is survived by her son, Gene Dye of Argyle, TX; daughter Mary Ortiz of San Antonio, TX and brother, Leland Turner of Irving, TX. Also surviving are five granddaughters; Angie McTarnahan, Heather Atchley, Rachel Dye, Katy Weber and Erika Weber as well as four great-grandchildren; Hallie and Chloe Atchley and Calum Runge and Crosby Rowe.

Shirley is preceded in death by her husband James Dye; sons Lynn and Wayne, her parents and sister, Doris Sisson (nee Turner).

Visitation will be Tuesday, March 9, 2021 at Ellis Funeral Home between the hours of 12:00 P.M. and 2:00 P.M

Funeral services have been scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, March 9, 2021 at Ellis Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.

Arrangements are under the direction of Ellis Funeral Home.
