Born in Westerly, she was a daughter of the late Anthony "Toots" and Philomena (Parrilla) Chiaradio.
Kathryn was a visiting nurse with the VNA of SE CT, and she was loved by all her patients. She was always giving of herself and going beyond her call of duty. She was a communicant of the Immaculate Conception Church in Westerly, and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Calabrese Society.
Kathryn will be sadly missed by her husband, Walter J. Murphy and her four loving children, Chiara Longo-Garrison of Norwich, Jason Longo of Providence, and Melanie Longo-Trombino and Sean Murphy, both of Pawcatuck. She will also be sadly missed by her sister and best friend, Carmella Luppe of Westerly. She also leaves seven grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her first husband, Garry J. Longo; and by her brothers, Edward F. Chiaradio and Joseph P. "Joe Pop" Chiaradio.
Calling hours will be held Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Gaffney-Dolan Funeral Home, 59 Spruce St., Westerly. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated Thursday at 10 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church, 111 High Street, Westerly. There is no procession from the funeral home to the church. Burial will be in St. Sebastian Cemetery, Westerly.
