Hannah was the daughter of Jacob Mansfield and Phebe (Biggerstaff) Mansfield.
Hannah was the second wife of Andrew Sheets (1817-1887). Andrew and Hannah were married on February 9, 1882 in Freeport, Winneshiek County, Iowa. Hannah died only one year later at the age of 40. Hannah's first husband was John Birdsell. Hannah and John were married on June 8, 1859 in Crawford County, Wisconsin and had at least eight children together including: Lovina, Bernard, Cora, Minnie, Eber, Albert and Stella. Hannah also had a child previously with Lafayette Simmons, named Fernando Simmons, who was the stepson of John Birdsell and Andrew Sheets. Fernando's first wife was Hannah's stepdaughter, Malinda Sheets. Fernando and Malinda were married on December 25, 1883 in Winneshiek County, Iowa.
