Mr. Alvin Holton Jr., age 77, of a Lyons address died peacefully Wednesday afternoon May 6th, 2020 at home surrounded by his loved ones, after an extended illness.

Alvin was a native and lifelong resident of the Five Points Community, and was a graduate of Oak Park High. He was a farmer and a retired lieutenant with the Montgomery State Prison System. He was a member of the Marietta Freewill Baptist Church.

Alvin is preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Cassie Holton; one brother,Orland Holton; and one sister, Ila Holton.

He is survived by his loving wife, Margaret Holton of Five Points Community; one son, Glen (Cindy) Holton of Five Points; two daughters, Sharon (Rod) Pye of Brooklet, Debra (Melvin) Nunn of Stillmore; one brother, Hilton Holton of Wrightsville; one sister, Mila Holton of Mableton; eight grandchildren, Jennifer, Lori, Chelsey, Caleb, Madison, Macy, Isaac, and Seth. Nine great-grandchildren also survive.

Graveside Services will be held Friday May 8th, 2020 at 11:00 am at Mt. Zion Baptist Church cemetery with Reverend Ken Murphy and Reverend Irvin Murphy officiating. Interment will follow. Ronnie L. Stewart Funeral Service Vidalia Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
