Joann Dennard Raspberry Obituary
Joann Dennard Raspberry, 87, of Shalimar, FL, went home to be with her Lord Tuesday, October 22, 2019. She was born August 18, 1932 in Unadilla, GA to the late James David Dennard and Emmitt Louise Brannen Dennard.
Joann was a graduate of Andrew Junior College in Cuthbert, GA. She was a member of the YWCA Cabinet, basketball team, and Delta PSI Omega Fraternity. In 1951, she was elected "Miss Andrew College." She then met her husband, Everett T. "Razz" Raspberry on a blind date and they married on September 12, 1954. She was a proud, loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandparent. She loved her home, gardening, and chatting with neighbors. She had a big heart and great smile.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 65 years, Everett T. "Razz" Raspberry on September 26, 2019 and her little sister, Rose Speight.
Survivors include her children, Denny Raspberry and Gayle Carmichael; four grandchildren, Cody, Alex, Lexi and Chad; three great grandchildren, Emma, Tyler and Leia; her sisters, Jimmilu Leverett and June Loper; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Monday, October 28, 2019 at 11 AM at the First Presbyterian Church of Fort Walton Beach. Interment followed in Beal Memorial Cemetery.
