Obituary: Wallo Katchmar 24 Nov 1928 Rockland County Times
Mr. Wallo Katchmar died at his home on Maple Avenue Friday evening as a result of a stroke, which he had suffered two days previously. He was 53 years of age, and had been a venerable resident of the Maple Ave. vicinity. His funeral was held from his late home on Maple Avenue to St. Mary's Church where a high mass of requiem was sung at ten o'clock on Monday. Interment was in St. Peter's Cemetery, under the direction of Undertaker Victor J. Shankey.

He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Mary Katchmar; eight daughters, Mrs. William [Constance] Reilly of Mount Vernon, Mrs. Charles [John] Deegan, Mrs. Carl Richards [should be Clara married to Richard Kawiecki], and Miss Agnes Katchmar all of Yonkers, and Mrs. Mary, Betty, Veronica and Helen Katchmar, and one son John Katchmar, of this village. He is also survived by one sister Mrs. Ignatius Kovalsky and three brothers, Joseph, James, and Frank Katchmar of this village.

Note: According to his second marriage certificate to Mary Urban in May 1910, he was a widow, so his first wife Katrina must have died in early 1910 because she was still alive according to the 1910 Haverstraw census.
