The Tyler Courier says: "In the death of Col. George Yarbrough, this community loses a prominent citizen--one whose life and works have been felt in the home, in church, in commercial affairs, and in every way that he has touched elbows with his fellow man. It has ever been for the advancement and promotion of the community and betterment of those with whom he was associated.
Col. Yarbrough had been a resident of Tyler for 46 years, coming here from Alabama, and was born in St. Clair County, Ala., June 2, 1826.
