"Funeral services for Willie Boone Jr., of Route 1, Karnack, were held at 2 p.m. Saturday in Pleasant Hill Methodist Church, Karnack, with the Rev. W.L. Sneed officiating. Burial followed in Pleasant Hill Cemetery under the direction of Lewis Funeral Home. Mr. Boone died Tuesday in a local nursing home. A Harrison County native, he was a member of Pleasant Hill Methodist Church. Survivors include his widow, Gertrude Boone, of Karnack; four daughters, Rothimpta Haggerty and Georgia Dorschield, both of Karnack, and Doretha Davis and Dorothy Dukes, both of Dallas; four brothers, Jesse Boone, Anninias Boone and James Boone, all of Karnack, and Clarence Boone, of Los Angeles, California; three sisters, Mrs. Willie Jones, Adeline Robinson and Gladys Sutton, all of Karnack; 12 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren."
