The interment of the remains of Mrs. Julia A. Chilcote took place in Bowmans Chapel Cemetery on Thursday of last week. She was raised in the house in Hares Valley in which she died and was the oldest daughter of Samuel Dell, deceased. In her early womanhood, she united herself with the German Baptist Church and has been a consistent member of the same until the time of her death and was therefore a Christian worker for nearly a half century, being at the time of her death, 64y 5m and 19 days of age. She had been in delicate health for serveral years but not seriously until a few days prior to her death, nevertheless, when death did come, it was not unexpected to her, she having had her minister annoint her on Monday before she died at 12:15 a.m. on Tuesday. She was a lady of mild disposition, an obliging neighbor, and a present help in time of sickness to those who lived around her. She was much beloved by all who have the pleasure of making her acquaintance. She remained with her father until toward the close of his life when she was united in marriage with Humphrey Chilcote, Jr. , and as a result of this marriage, one child was given to this who preceded its mother to the grave. Mrs. Chilcote leaves behind to mourn their loss; a husband, three brothers, and one sister. Her brothers are Henry Dell, Shirley Twp; Isaac Dell, Cass Twp; and Jonathan Dell, Union Twp. Her sister, Mrs. Henry Miller resides in Jennings Co, Indiana. She also had one half brother, Harry Dell, Yeagertown, Mifflin County. Her funeral sermon was preached by Rev. James Lane, of Shirleysburg. He took as a basis for his discourse, the Scripture as recorded in II Cor, 5th Chapter and 1st verse. The many friends have the sympathy of all in their bereavement.
