Irma Hulke, 75, of 1501 South Valley Street in New Ulm, formerly of rural New Ulm, died Monday, September 4, 2000 at her home in New Ulm.

Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Immanuel Lutheran Church in rural Courtland with burial in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Thursday and 7:30-8:30 a.m. Friday at Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm, and for one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday.

She is survived by her husband, Willard A. Hulke, of New Ulm; daughters and sons-in-law Rachel and James Harbarth of rural Gaylord, Nancy and Bernie Reinhart of rural New Ulm, Lois and Randy Trump of Faribault, and Linda and Bill Youngblom of rural Lafayette; sons and daughters-in-law James and Jayne Hulke and Robert and Karen Hulke all of New Ulm; a son Richard Hulke of New Ulm; 15 grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law, Edgar and Sally Lueders of Faribault, Leonard and Phyllis Lueders of Austin, Willard and Karen Lueders of Sheboygan, Wis., and Martin and Carol Lueders of Fridley; a brother in-law and sister-in-law Harvey and Ardella Hulke of Courtland; a sister-in-law Lillian Rasmussen of New Ulm; and a sister-in-law and brother-in-law Sylvia and Richard Koehler of Hanska. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters and two brothers, all in childhood, a sister and brother-in-law Martha and Marvin Wegner; a sister-in-law Dorothy Lueders; and a brother-in-law Clifford Rasmussen.


She was born July 14, 1925 at home in Newhall, Iowa to Karl and Adeline (Kolander)Lueders. The family lived in Lakefield and Faribault where she graduated from Faribault High School in 1943. After high school she attended Bethany Lutheran College in Mankato where she received her teaching degree in 1945. She then taught school at the Immanuel Lutheran School in rural Courtland. On June 20,1947 she married Willard Hulke at Trinity Lutheran Church in Faribault. After marriage they farmed near Swan Lake, rural Courtland, and later farmed in rural New Ulm, east of Klossner.

They retired from farming and moved to New Ulm in 1992. She was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church, rural Courtland,and a member of the Dorcas Society at church. She had been active as a volunteer in many community and church activities.
