++++++++++++

R.F., commonly known as "Billie", son of Robert and Martha Denton was born in Ray county, Missouri, near Richmond, December 28, 1871 and departed this life in Kansas City, June 5, 1924, aged 52 years, 5 months, and 2 days.

Everything that was possible of humanity and human hands to do, was done for his recovery, but as he said to his wife and son, the Master had called and he must go; and he submitted and said "the will of the Lord be done".

He was united in marriage to Mary Mae Albertson October 15, 1899. To this union two sons were born, Leon and Woodford.

Leon preceded him to the better land, dying April 4, 1913.

Bro. Denton was a thorough, active Christian. He was converted in June 1913 and united with the Christian Union church at Old Union, and was faithful at all times, filling several duties in the church. He was liberal with his means, supporting every interest of the church. Roads were never too bad or the weather too cold for Billie to miss Sunday School and church service.

He will be missed at his home, the place he loved best, and at the church, the place he loved next, and by his neighbors and many friends. Truly the world has lost a good man.

He leaves to mourn, his faithful wife and son Woodford; one brother, Joel of Lawson; three sisters, Mrs. Emma Huffaker of Lawson; Mrs. Mary James of Lawson; Mrs. Roda Merryman of Oakland, Calif.; many other relatives and a host of friends.

The funeral was held at Union, in the presence of a very large crowd of friends, Monday afternoon, conducted by A.F. Dorrell, assisted by J. Swafford and Rev. Joe McAdams, after which the remains were laid to rest in Union Cemetery.

We speak of the realms of the blest,

That country so bright and so fair,

And oft are its glories confessed-

But what must it be to be there!

Do thou, Lord, midst pleasure and woe

For heaven our spirits prepare

Then soon shall we know what it is

to be there!
