Wilma Jean Heinrich 86 of LaVale, MD died of natural causes Sunday, January 14, 2018 at her home surrounded by loving family.

She was born June 2, 1931 in Grafton, WV, and was the daughter of the late Roy Clarence and Hazel Della (Shaffer) Poling. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Donald R. Poling, and her sister, Zelda Rita Henderson.

Mrs. Heinrich was a graduate of Grafton High School where she was editor of the school newspaper.
Jean earned her nursing degree from the Sacred Heart School of Nursing as well as an advanced nursing degree from the University of Maryland. She dedicated her nursing career to helping patients with psychiatric needs throughout the Maryland State system and retired from Clifton T. Perkins Hospital.

Jean assisted her husband operating Heinrich's clothing stores, was an active member of the Retired Nurses Association and was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church.

Survivors include her husband, William F. Heinrich; three children, Della J. Judy and husband Wayne, Canton, GA, William F. Heinrich, II, Hagerstown, Charles Scott Heinrich and wife Jovy, LaVale; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Many years ago, Jean had decided to donate her body to the Maryland Anatomy Board for Medical Research.

A memorial service and burial at Rocky Gap Veterans Cemetery will be announced at a later date.
