Mrs Vehorn was a devout Christian throughout her life, serving the Lord and others in both domestic and foreign mission fields. Her most active years of service were given in Concord Baptist Church in Anderson, SC, where her five children grew to adulthood. She was a faithful wife for 70 years and a devoted mother. Her specialties were cooking, sewing, gardening, and hospitality. No one could fry fresh caught flounder better, grow bigger blueberries, or create a more comfortable gathering.
She is survived by four children, Henry Vehorn (Evelyn) of Tuscaloosa, Al, Gloria Nelson (Avery) of Charleston, SC, Ronnie Vehorn (Janet) of Columbia SC, and Martha Vehorn (Don Boomer) of Charleston, SC. She was "Mema" to seven grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. Her only remaining sibling from six brothers and two sisters is Howard Bishop (Mildred) of Oklahoma City, Ok.
The friends and family are an unnumbered collection of those who will join her family in celebrating her long life and grieving the loss of her touch.
