Beverly Jean Divis, 85, of Sergeant Bluff, formerly Sioux City, died on Friday, Jan. 5, 2018, at a local nursing home.

Services will be at 11 a.m. on Friday at Christy-Smith Morningside Chapel located at 1801 Morningside Ave. Sioux City, Iowa 51106. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Sioux City. The family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 12 at Christy-Smith Morningside Chapel.

Beverly was born May 2, 1932 in Bronson, Iowa, to George D. and Ruth Mae (Langford) Earley. As a young girl the family moved to Sioux City where she grew up and attended school. She married Richard Divis on July 8, 1950. The couple had five children, Richard Jr., Edward, Georgia, Michael and Steve. Beverly stayed home and raised the children. When she completed that role she decided to go back to Western Iowa Tech Community College and earn her GED in 1978.

Her hobbies included bird and animal watching, cooking and baking for family and friends, vacationing with family and going out to eat with family and friends.
She was a member of the Church of Christ.

Surviving are son, Ed Divis and his wife, Elaine of Sioux City; daughter, Georgia Dietz of Spirit Lake, Iowa; son, Michael Divis and his wife, Nolleen of Ankeny, Iowa and son, Steve Divis and his wife, Dixie of Great Bend, Kan.; daughter in-law, Carol Divis of Sioux City; 14 grandchildren and many great grandchildren; sister, Ruth and her husband, Jerry Riley of Texas; sister, Rosie Fester of Sioux City; sister, Judy and her husband, Al Clayton of Sioux City and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Richard; a son, Richard Divis Jr.; grandson, Christopher Divis; sisters, Betty Wyant, Louise Hansen and Anne Marie Martinson and brothers, George, Richard and Jim Earley.
