Suddenly on January 6, 2018, passed away in the line of duty at age 42, of Springfield, PA. For the last year and a half he has enjoyed sharing his life with Mary T. Kury, Matt was predeceased by his father Daniel and brothers Michael and Thomas, he is survived by his dear mother Janice (Thomas) LeTourneau, his sister Michelle (John) Ciano and brothers Mark (Jami) and Luke (Mary) LeTourneau. He will be tremendously missed by all of his nieces and nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and Anne M. Phillips.

Relatives and friends are invited to his Viewing Thursday Evening from 4:30-9 P.M. and Friday after 9 A.M. Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul, 1723 Race Street, Philadelphia, PA 19103, Funeral Mass 11 A.M. Friday January 12, 2018 in the Cathedral. Interment Saints Peter and Paul Cemetery. Ever since Matt was a child he wanted to be a fireman ironically he was born during a firedrill at the hospital.
He is very much missed.
He was post humously ranked Captain.
He is dearly missed by all who knew him.
Rest in peace.Lt. Matthew LeTourneau of Springfield, Pa and an 11- year veteran of the Philadelphia Fire Department, tragically lost his life in the line of duty on January 6, 2018 while battling a fire in North Philadelphia with Engine 45. He was 42 years old.

Lt. LeTourneau, graduated from Holy Cross Elementary school and later Cardinal O'Hara High School in 1993. He received his Associate's Degree in Fire Science from Delaware County Community College in 1995.
For the last year and a half he has enjoyed sharing his life with Mary T. Kury.

It is with deepest regret and sorrow to report the line-of-duty death of Philadelphia FD Lt. Matthew LeTourneau, IAFF 4th District Local 22, Philadelphia, PA. Brother LeTourneau, 42, died in the Line of Duty on January 6, 2018 after succumbing to injuries suffered from a structural collapse while fighting a rowhouse fire.

Visitation will take place on Friday, January 12, 2018 from 4:00-9:00 PM at the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul, 1723 Race Street, Philadelphia, PA 19103.

The funeral will take place on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at 1:00 PM also at the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul.

The department announced Monday that viewings for Lt. Matthew LeTourneau will be held from 4:30 to 9 p.m. Thursday and 9 to 11 a.m. Friday at the Cathedral Basilica of SS. Peter and Paul at 18th Street and the Benjamin Franklin Parkway.

A Funeral Mass will follow at 11 a.m. Friday at the cathedral. LeTourneau will be buried at SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery in Marple Township, Delaware County.
