Mr. Heyland was a member of the Cherry Hills Baptist Church and a former member of the South Seventh Street Baptist Church for 52 years, where he served as financial secretary for seven years and also served as deacon and trustee. He was a 62-year member of the International Typographical Union.
Surviving are his wife, Irene; one daughter, Mrs. W. David (Karen) Stroemer of Peoria; one brother, Juel C. of Springfield; one sister, Mrs. Beulah Danner of Springfield; two grandsons.
Services at Cherry Hills Baptist Church. Burial in Oak Ridge Cemetery.
