Answers Death's Call – Mrs. Margaret Huntington Deceased – Was a Pioneer Resident of This Section

Mrs. Margaret Huntington, died at her late home two miles East of town early Sunday morning last. Although the late deceased had not been regarded as seriously ill until shortly previous to her death yet she had suffered some what severely with a complication of troubles for some two or three weeks before her demise. The funeral was held from St. George's church Rev. J.J. Conry, conducting the services, and the remains were laid to rest in the old cemetery located one mile East of Glencoe, where lie the remains of her husband who died about fifteen years ago, her mother and father, one brother and one sister. Margaret Huntington was a very devout catholic, and for years previous to her death except in the most exceptionally bad weather, she could have been seen accompanied by her ages sister Catherine, nearly every day wending her way to the church on the hill which she loved dearly. Miss Margaret McDougal was born in Glengary, Ontario, Canada, August, 10th, 1832 and was therefore far advanced in the seventieth year of her age at the time of her death. The parents of the subject of this sketch located in the town of Helen in 1860, and the daughter, Miss Margaret joined them three years later. She was united in marriage to Edward F. Huntington, at Waconia in the adjoining county of Carver, in 1865. The issue of this union was one child, W.D. Huntington, who resides on the old homestead with his family, and where resides also Miss Catherine McDougal named above. Besides the son and sister, referred to, the deceased left surviving tow brothers, Duncan McDougal who resides in the state of Washington, and Alex McDougal, who resides in Mille Laca county, this state. The sympathy of many neighbors and friends will be extended to the relatives of the deceased for the loss of a Christian mother and friend.
