Listed on Peninsula burial records as Wilhelm, however unable to find death record under name Wilhelm.
I think it was an error as there is a death record for a William HELMS, age 46 yrs 5 mons 5 days, died Oct 22 1917, father surname Helms, mother Tillie Boring. Eva Price of same address was informant on DC, she is his mother's sister. Address 150 17th St on obit agrees with DC.
He was a teamster, married.
If Tillie Price Boring is his foster or step mother that's why listed on DC.

One newspaper obituary gives age 46, does not mention parents or any other relatives. ??
Funeral announcement gives age 47 which is closer to that of William Helms.

Would appreciate any info as I am attempting to verify this is one & the same person.
If his biological mother is Ann Matilda 'Tillie' Price who appears on the 1880 census, Wheeling, age 23 as wife to James Holtzclaw 23, a laborer born VA, with a son Willis Holtzclaw 10. (Willis is likely William Helms but they both would have had to be only age 13 when he was born...? Could he have been adopted from someone in the Holtsclaw family perhaps.)

Mrs. Tillie Holtzclaw 44 is listed on the 1900 census, Ohio County WV as a widow (??) had one child, one living. Also in household is her sister Emma Gephart 33 and her 3 children. She is Eva Mae Price Wilson buried this cemetery.

Marriage record for William Helms 30 to divorced Bessie (Elizabeth) Porter, 31, Aug 9, 1902, Wheeling. Both born Wheeling.

Listed as divorced, Annie T Price 48 married widower Charles Boring, Jan 20, 1909. (thus Tillie Boring)
James Holtsclaw divorced, age 55, married Lucy Crawford, 34, Nov 24, 1911, Wheeling.

William Helms is listed on 1915 Wheeling City Directory at 150 17th St, occupation driver for Wheeling Corrugated Co.
William Helms appears on 1917 Wheeling City Directory at 150 17th St under heading Express and Transfer.

His widow Bessie Helms 47 married Benjamin Franklin Adams born Woodsfield, Ohio, age 26, Nov 10. 1917, Wheeling where they both resided.

His mother and her sister are both interred this cemetery.
Tillie's obit indicates she left one son, but does not give name. Address is same 150 17th St.
James Holtsclaw's obit states he was a retired bricklayer and "was never married" ?

Bessie Porter Adams obituary Sept 13, 1937 indicates she was survived by two daughters Mrs. Catherine Doyle, Mrs. Jennie Davis both of Wheeling, a sister Mrs. Sallie Marshall, and six Davis grandchildren. Who was father of her daughters? Virginia May 'Jennie' Duffy married William Edward Davis in 1908.
Marriage record for Bessie Porter to Patrick Duffy in 1888, Marshall County WV. Patrick was born 1867.
Catherine Duffy was married to Benjamin Harrison Doyle.
