SAN ANGELO - Virginia Morgan Boone, 84, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 15, 2007. A private memorial service will be Thursday morning, April 19, in Johnson's Funeral Home chapel.
Virginia was born Oct. 21, 1922, in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, South America. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gertude and Finis Morgan, missionaries to Brazil for 33 years; her sister, Marian Keegan; and her youngest son, Sammie Morgan Buddin.
She moved to the San Angelo community in 1984 and was a member of St. Paul Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by her husband of 26 years, Lloyd Boone; her daughter, Sue Ann Buddin and her husband, G.L. Harrison of San Angelo, Texas; her son, Timothy Buddin, and grandson Bruce Buddin of Robert Lee; her son, Donald Buddin, his wife, Sandy, and grandson Nicholas of Marion, La.; her daughter-in-law, Jennifer Lansbury, and beautiful granddaughter Anna of Springfield, Va.; a very dear niece, Kay Keegan of Anchorage, Ky.; her brother, Finis Morgan Jr., and his wife, Jeanne of Lubbock, Texas; and nephews Rhine and Steve. She had many special friends in the United States and abroad.
Virginia was a devoted Christian, loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, friend and, foremost, teacher. She was kind, generous, loyal and peace-loving. She was a linguist and an educator for 40-plus years in Brazil, Harlingen and El Paso, Texas, having obtained her bachelor's degree from Louisiana College, a double master's from Baylor University and a bachelor's degree in music from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. She was an avid writer, story-teller, historian and very proud of her Cherokee ancestry. She had a keen sense of humor and was very witty and fun-loving. Virginia touched many lives and will be truly missed every day by her family and friends. Boa noite querida mamae and sweet dreams forever.
