Odis Chumley, 54, of Oxford, Rt. 2, died unexpectedly today [sic] at 1 p.m. at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at Gray Brown-Service Mortuary with the Rev. Leroy McClendon and the Rev. Ernest Bellamy officiating. Burial will be in McElwein Cemetery at Irondale [NOTE: he is buried in Coldwater Cemetery in Anniston].

He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Margaret Chumley, three daughters, Mrs. Julia Parker of Marietta, Ga., Mrs. Janette Lindly of Ft. Walton Beach, Fla., and Mrs. Patricia Hughes of Ft. Benning, Ga.; one step-son, Bobby H. Poe of Vero Beach, Fla.; three sisters, Mrs. Velma Stockmans and Mrs. Gay White, both of Lufkin, Tex., and Mrs. Johnnie Hudsebeth of Houston, Tex.; one brother, Onrard Chumley of Lufkin, Tex.; three grandchildren.Mr. Chumley was a native of Texas, a resident of Calhoun County for the past 20 years, an employee of Anniston Army Depot and a veteran of World War II.Source: "The Anniston Star" - April 21, 1968
