Ellen was the daughter of John Callanan and Anna (Crowley) Callanan. She was also the widow of Michael Stevenson Madigan and mother of James C. Madigan and Mrs. John P. O'Brien of 1 West 85th Street, Manhattan, New York. She died from the Great Flu Pandemic at the age of 76 years.
