SOUTH BEND - Melvin L. Outlaw Sr., 65, of South Bend, passed away on October 17, 2015, at home with his wife and granddaughter. Born May 22, 1950, in South Bend, to the late Walter Ray and Rosa Lee (nee Barnes) Outlaw, Melvin remained a lifelong resident. Melvin is survived by his loving wife, Priscilla (Works) Outlaw; three sons, Melvin, Jr., Eric and Marcus Outlaw, all of South Bend; two daughters, Josephine Merri-weather of South Bend and Rolanda Jeffries of Milwaukee, WI; two stepdaughters, Jacqueline (Kwase) Bishop and Janeese Johnson, both of South Bend; a stepson, Joseph Johnson of San Pablo, CA. Melvin is also survived by four sisters, Yvonne (Duwaine) Hoffman of South Bend, Katherine (Randolph) Byrd-Mckenzie of Indianapolis, IN, Marcella Alston of South Bend and Sandra Outlaw; one brother, Rev. Joseph L. (Julia Marie) Gause of Elyria, OH. Service will be at Cobb Funeral Home, 3525 S. Michigan Street, South Bend, IN, Friday, October 23, at noon, with visitation one hour prior to service.
