Edna Ruth (Kennedy) Astle, 101, passed away September 8, 2015 at the Mt. Hope Nursing Home. She was born July 16, 1914 in Reno County, Kansas, to Edward and Grace (Grace) Kennedy.

She married Robert Howard Astle on September 29, 1934 in Oklahoma. Robert preceded her in death on November 11, 2004

A lifelong resident of Haven, Edna was a homemaker. She was a member of the Congregational United Church of Christ and the Rebecca’s Lodge, both in Haven. She was an avid bridge player.

Survivors include a daughter, Carole Dyer, Haven, a son, Michael (Sharon) Astle, Colorado Springs, CO, 6 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Clyde Kennedy, and a sister, Dorothy Smiley.

Visitation will be from 5-7 Thursday and noon to 7 Friday, with the family present from 6-7 p.m. Friday evening, all at Ott Funeral Home, Haven. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday at the Congregational United Church of Christ, Haven. Burial will follow in the Laurel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Congregational United Church of Christ, in care of the funeral home. Ott Funeral Home, Haven is assisting with the arrangements.
