After an illness of only four days, Mrs. Amanda Shiffert, wife of Willis D. Schiffert, died yesterday morning at Chestnut Hill, aged 47 years. She was a member of a prominent Lehigh county family, daughter of the late Jonas Brobst, of Lynnville, who for years was a landlord at Fogelsville, and besides three daughters and one son leaves one sister, Miss Mame Brobst, a nurse, of Allentown, and three brothers, Dr. Charles Brobst, of Peoria, Ill.; Reuben Brobst, of Philadelphia, and Harry Brobst, of Wilmington, Del. Her husband is a son of Frank J. M. Schiffert, of Old Zionsville, long chief marshal of the Allentown Fair, and a brother of Frank J. E. Schiffert, of Allentown. The late Dr. John A. Brobst, of Macungie, was also a brother. The funeral will take place at Macungie on Thursday afternoon.
