Mrs. Blanchard had many interests; she took pleasure in the beauty of flowers, so working in her flowerbeds was an enjoyment for her, as well as playing cards with her family and friends, going dancing, and baking sweet treats to share with her family and friends. Her most treasured times were those spent with her family and friends.
Survivors include two daughters, Marlene Haire of Breaux Bridge and Betty Trahan and her husband Rodney of Duson; one brother, Lennis “Choo Choo” Cormier and his wife Mary of Gramercy; two sisters, Anna Mae Comb of Lafayette and Athalie C. Boutin of Breaux Bridge; four grandchildren, Rocky Haire, Melissa Haire, Becky Cortez and Ronnie Trahan; two great-grandchildren, Brandy Clark and Kristi Trahan; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Martin and Theresa Trosclair Cormier; her husband, Ernest “Red” Blanchard; former husband, Ramsey Brasseaux; her son, Richard Brasseaux; a great-grandson, Lane Trahan; and two brothers, Francis and Roy Cormier.
