Louis "Lou" Danner, 88, was the son of Andrew and Catherine Herman Danner. Catherine died when Lou was an infant. Lou was raised by his father and stepmother, Beulah Danner.

He married Anna Vizzini on Oct. 13, 1951, in Springfield.

Lou attended Feitshans High School in Springfield.

He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He was employed as a machinist with Fiat Allis for over 40 years.

Lou was a member of the Illinois Dept. of Public Health Men's Golf League, Elks Lodge #158, and a former member of the Knights of Columbus.

He enjoyed spending time with his family and was known for being kind, caring, and hardworking. Lou also enjoyed golfing, bowling, traveling, home improvement projects, and was an avid Cubs and Bears fan.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his stepmother, Beulah Danner and three sisters: Kathleen Snow, Frances Jackson and Florence Aiello.

He is survived by his wife, one son, Mark (wife, Kathleen) Danner, one daughter, Andrea (fiancé, Rick Davison) Danner, five grandchildren: Andy (wife, Katie) Danner, Angela (husband, T.J.) Mabie, Alexandra Danner, Nicholas and Derek Rapps, five great-grandchildren: five siblings: Phyllis Dorworth, Evelyn Lazar, Beulah Sabo, Mabel Croucher and Ernest Danner and many nieces and nephews.
