Miss Ethel May Carell was born on August 25, 1880 in Davidson County, Tennessee, the daughter of Elza Monroe Carell (1848-1900) and Martha (Miller) Carell.
A resident of Sterling Court Apartments, she was a secretary for the City of Nashville. Ethel was 63 years old when she died at home of wide-spread cancer on September 20, 1943. Burial was two days later in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Nashville.
