Died Dec. 12, 2006

Grady "Spanky" Howard Jr., 65, of Gainesville died Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2006, following an extended illness.

A lifelong resident of Gainesville, he was the son the late Grady and Minnie Howard and a second generation trucking business owner. He was a member and past president of the Gainesville Jaycees and Gainesville Lions clubs. He was a member of Seventh-Day Adventist Church, Gainesville. He also was preceded in death by his sister, Pamela Howard Wilson.

Survivors include his son, Phillip Sterling Howard, Alpharetta; sisters, Patricia Green, Norcross, and Shirley Whitmire, Gainesville; and brother, Robert Howard, Flowery Branch.

A ceremony is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 20, 2007, at Seventh-Day Adventist Church, Gainesville.
