Funeral services for Christine Long Havens, 88, of Grenada, were held at 2 p.m. Monday, July 7, at National Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed in Woodlawn Cemetery in Grenada..
Visitation was Sunday, July 6, from 5 to 7 p.m. at National Funeral Home.
Christine died Friday, July 4, 2014, at the Grenada Living Center in Grenada.
She was born on June 11, 1926, and was the daughter of the Late L.L. Long and Mattie Creason Long of Carroll County. She is also preceded in death by her husband, James Havens; a daughter, Carolyn Havens; a son, Donald Havens; two sisters, Estelle Pearl Haynes and Lorene Malone; and three brothers, Herman Long, Willie Long and William Long.
Christine was employed by Pennaco Hosiery Mill where she was a boarder and box maker. She was a member of Elliott Baptist Church and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary.
Christine is survived by her daughters, Gail Willis of Grenada and Norma Nester of Carrollton; three sons, James Earl Havens of Holcomb, Roger Havens and Ronnie Havens, both of Elliott; 15 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and 14 great-great-grandchildren.
Bro. Eddie Carpenter and Jerome Funderburg officiated the services with Wesley Richards, Vince Havens, Roger Havens, Jr., Eddie Willis, Bubba Martin, Chris Davidson, Wade Lindsey and James Earl Havens serving as pallbearers.
