Jacqueline V. Mayo
WATERFORD Our mother, Jacqueline V. Mayo, went with the angels on March 17, 2004 after a very courageous battle with cancer. She was born in the old Cohoes Hospital, February 17, 1936. She was raised and educated in Cohoes. After traveling to parts of the world with her family, she settled her family in Cohoes. Jackie worked at Barclay Home Products for 20 years. She spent her later years in life taking care of her grandchildren, which always made her smile. Her parents, Wilfred and Amilda Richards Forgett and her brother, Gene Forgett predecease her. She is survived by her eight children, which were the pride of her life, Victoria Majewski (Frank), Paul Mayo (Susan), Christopher Mayo, Lynn Ryan (Terry), John Mayo (Donna), Michelle Rigney (Andy), Mark Mayo and Jennifer Wilson (Jessy). She is survived by her wonderful sister and friend, Theresa Jones. She is also survived by her grandkids, Paul, Crystal, Stacey, Keith, Steven, Kelley, Peter, Jarrett, Kayla, Deanna, Meghan, Austin, Ian and Logan; four great-grandkids and many, many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by wonderful friends, her best friend, Barbara Barcher; the man who could always make her laugh, Michael Mayo; the man she has known since she was 13 and her friend, John Mayo. We want to thank the nurses, Judy Geiss and Veronica from Hospice and others: you treated her like a lady. Our thanks to our family, friends and co-workers for your thoughts of Mom and the occasional shoulder we needed. At the request of our Mom, there will be no calling hours. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a celebration of her life on Saturday, 10:30 a.m. at St. Bernard's Church, Cohoes where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Waterford. Contributions may be made in Jackie's memory to Community Hospice of Rensselaer, 295 Valley View Road, Rensselaer, NY 12144.
