Deborah Simpson, 89, Sharpsville, died at 8:53 a.m. Wednesday, May 28, 2014, at Community Howard Regional Health. She was born June 12, 1924, in Clinton County, to Albert Charles and Ellen Cordelia Butcher.

After the death of her parents, Deborah was raised by her older sister and her husband, Ora and Daniel Zeck, Young America.

She was married Jan. 22, 1943, in Denver, Colorado, to Max J. Simpson, who survives.

Deborah was a homemaker and farm wife. She graduated from Young America High School in 1942. She enjoyed camping, fishing, watching birds, collecting dolls, sewing, knitting, crocheting and playing the piano. She also enjoyed taking care of her husband and was also an active band parent.

Survivors are her husband, Max J. Simpson, Sharpsville; son, Max R. (Kim) Simpson, Sharpsville; a daughter, Gloria J. Morelock and friend Dallas Wilson, Goshen; four grandchildren, Troy (Lori) Moss, Jason Simpson, Liberty (Will) Tindle and Corina Morelock; and eight great-grandchildren, August, Zoey, Alex, Dreagon, Logan, Coldin, Gryphon and Emery.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and two sisters.

Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Marion National Cemetery, Marion, with Pastor Jeff Harlow and Pastor John Rhodes officiating.

Burial will be in Marion National Cemetery.

Family and friends may call from 10 a.m. to noon Monday at Hasler & Stout Funeral Home, 112 E. Main St., Greentown.

Memorial contributions may be made to Disabled American Veterans (DAV), with envelopes available at the funeral home.

Arrangements are being handled by Hasler & Stout Funeral Home, Greentown.
