She was a native of Woodbury, the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Cliffton Smithson. She married 1st on November 1, 1906 to Adam Tenpenny, who predeceased her by 27 years. She later married Edgar Banks, who predeceased her by 22 years. She had been living in Nashville for several years prior to her death at Mid-State Baptist Hospital.
