She was born December 23, 1930, to Elven and Tena (Roberts) Schlosser in Lima, Ohio.
She married Martin Newman on August 15, 1949, and he survives. Also surviving are her children, Martin R. Newman of Defiance, Mark D. (Jane) Newman of Defiance, Tim J. Newman, Cathy Sue; nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Evelyn L. Romes; and brothers, Harold and Elven Schlosser Jr.
Doris lived most of her life in Defiance and was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church. She was an avid crafter, loved bicycling and dancing and was also an IRL and a NASCAR fan of Sam Hornish Jr. Doris was a homemaker.
