MRS. HOMER HASTING
Mrs. Martha P. Hasting, 65, of 1622 West Main street, died Friday at 7 p.m. at the Rest Haven nursing home.
The daughter of Stephen and Sarah Overturf, she was born April 4, 1884, in Wapello county, and had lived in the Ottumwa vicinity all her life. Her marriage to David L. Belger took place March 9, 1902. He preceded her in death in 1921 [sic]. Her marriage to Homer Hasting took place January 27, 1923. She was a member of the Brethren church.
Mrs. Hasting is survived by her husband, Homer; three sons, Stephan A. Belger of Ottumwa route 5, Paul R. Belger and Chester B. Belger, both of Ottumwa; one daughter, Mrs. James Winslow of Knoxville; two brothers, Bert Overturf of Loveland, Colo., and George Overturf of Ottumwa; and three sisters, Mrs. Pearl Walden of Ottumwa and Mrs. Clella Wilson and Mrs. Clyde Jones, both of Denver. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Her parents, one son and three daughters preceded her in death.
The body is at the Johnson funeral chapel where services will be held Monday at 10:30 a.m. in charge of the Rev. C.A. Albin of the Church of the Brethren. Burial will be in Shaul cemetery.
