"Herbert Hoover Trent, age 79, of Rogersville, went to be with the Lord on Friday, Dec. 19, 2008 at Wellmont-Hawkins County Hospital. He was born May 1, 1929. He was a faithful member of Friendly View Baptist Church. He was pre-ceded by his wife Margaret Trent; his parents, John C. & Zannie (Helton) Trent; five brothers Tregonia J., Ned, Carl, Owen and Clifford; and one sister Maggie Lee Trent. He is survived by his children- Lloyd Davis, Joyce Carpenter & husband Darrell of Whitesburg, Mary Helton & husband Luther, Judy Willis, Randy Davis & wife Angel, Johnny Davis & wife LaDean and Terry Davis, all of Rogersville, and Teresa Hodgkiss of Lewiston, Maine; four step- children; 15 grandchildren; 10 great grand-children; his sister Una V. Willis of Rogersville; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friend from 6-8 pm on Monday, Dec. 22, at Colboch-Price Funeral Home in Rogersville or any time at the home of his daughter, Mary Helton at 151 Helton Hollow Rd., Rogersville, TN. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm, Tuesday, Dec. 23, at Friendly View Missionary Baptist Church on Austin Mill Rd., Rogersville, with Rev.’s R. L. Warren, Tim Wolfe and Paul Haun officiating.
