Geraldine Holman, age 70, a resident of Lombard, died Sunday, September 29, 2013 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove. She was born July 27, 1943 in Chicago to Joseph and Margaret Wilson.

Geraldine graduated from Roycemore High School in Evanston in 1961, continuing her schooling and receiving an associates degree from Kendall College. These credentials helped her in her jobs as a bookkeeper, business training advisor, and presidential secretary; working for the Baha'i Publishing Trust and World Centre, universities (Northwestern and the University of Illinois) and large corporations (EATON Co.).

In 1982 Gerry went on her first date with James Holman and were wed December 26 of that year, in a wedding attended by over 350 guests. In 1984 Gerry and Jim joined the Peace Corps, volunteering in Fiji, as the first woman consultant in the Ministry of Cooperatives, helping train in computer operations and bookkeeping. She and her husband shared 30 happy years, filled with love and world travel.

She is survived by her husband of 30 years, James Holman; her sister, Hope Bulger; niece and nephews and Jim's children whom she loved as her own. She was preceded in death by her parents.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 26, at Hultgren Funeral Home, Wheaton, IL 60187, with a time of fellowship and refreshment to follow. A private interment was held at Oakridge Cemetery in Hillside.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be directed in Gerry's name for research with the Huntington's Disease Society of America, New York, NY.
