BELTON — Services for Elisga Beard, 50, of Gatesville will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Heartfield Funeral Home in Belton with the Rev. Carl Guthrie and the Rev. Carl Beard officiating.

Mr. Beard died Tuesday, June 7, in a local hospital.

He was born on Jan. 22, 1961, to Johnny Sr. and Thelma Meyers Beard in New Orleans. He worked as a mechanic for more than 30 years where he had worked for Wilson Art for 10 years and Kaylyn Seibert in Gatesville for three. He was a 20-year member of the Belton Lighthouse.

Survivors include a son, Jonathan Beard of Lorena; a daughter, Brittanni Beard of Gatesville; two brothers, Matt Beard of Temple and Mark Beard of Weatherford; six sisters, Jeannie Duncan, Tammy Guthrie and Pam Hinojosa, all of Temple, Carolyn Titus of Belton and Mary Guthrie and Penny Ott, both of Waco; and his mother, Thelma Wylie of Quincy, Fla.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Carolyn Titus for the Benefit of Elisga Beard, c/o Extraco Bank, P.O. Box 1029, Belton, TX 76513-1029.
