John Hamilton Hyde, 74, retired miner, died at his home at Fry, Georgia, last Thursday after a prolonged illness. A deacon in the Fairview Baptist Church of Fry, Mr. Hyde was born in the Grassy Creek community on September 16, 1887. He passed away three days before his seventy-fourth birthday. He was the son of the late Cornelia and Sarah Elliott Hyde.

He is survived by his wife, five sons, J. T., of Fry; Luther, of McCaysville; G. W., of Baltimore, Maryland; Clarence of McCaysville; and David C. of Baltimore, Maryland; two daughters, Mrs. Annie Mae Hubbard of Tampa Florida, and Miss Jessie Hyde of Fry; two brothers, Bill and B. C. and two sisters, Mrs. Kate Chastain and Mollie Bates of Benton.

Officiating at the funeral services were Revs. Harold Long, Org Foster and Robert Talley.
