Born March 5, 1931, in Little Ferry, NJ, he was the son of the late William and Catherine (Singer) Dermody. He was a communicant of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church. Walter served our country with in the US Air Force for 20 years before retiring in 1967. After retiring, he earned his degree in Business Administration at the University of Massachusetts, worked as manager at Friendly's Restaurant for 20 years, then at Stop and Shop Supermarkets and last working for H&R Block.
In addition to his wife of 60 years, he leaves 4 children; five grandchildren; five great grandchildren; his sister of Dudley, MA; his daughter-in-law of Springfield, MA; a niece and a nephew.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday at 10:30am in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 984 Taunton Ave., Seekonk. Burial is private.
A memorial gift that will be used to provide food, shelter and hope to the poorest of the poor can be made to Cross International, 600 SW Third St. Suite 2201, Pompano Beach, FL 33060.
